Low-Level Laser Therapy
Low-level laser therapy has proved itself to be one of the most effective and advanced modern medicine tools to promote healing.
At our clinic, we use an Erchonia FDA-cleared laser to help assist with the healing process. Much like a plant converts the sun's light energy into chemical energy for food, researchers have found that when our bodies are exposed to certain frequencies and wavelengths of red light, our mitochondria will generate more ATP (adenosine tryphosphate). ATP is essentially the end point of what our cells use to regenerate and this process is what directly leads to improved healing.
A laser light is also unique in that it is both a concentrated beam of energy (light) as well as monochromatic (one color). Research shows that this unique exposure is where the most effective benefits are found in regards to light therapy, as opposed to other forms such as LED and infra-red exposure.
We utilize two different types of laser in our office: the handheld XLR8 laser and the more powerful FX405. Both lasers are very effective at naturally lessening inflammation through a 635nm wavelength. We practically use the XLR8 to enhance the post-effects of the adjustment, but the FX405 is performed in seperate treatments that require more time and focus for long-standing or severe injuries and symptoms. They may assist with broad range of injuries, anywhere from plantar fasciitis and ankle sprains to neurological disorders and movement pattern deficiencies. These exciting and powerful tools may naturally help with:
- Muscle strains
- Ligament sprains
- Bursitis
- Tendonitis
- Concussions
- Headaches
- Sinus infections
- Nerve pain
- Muscle tightness
The FX405 Laser also uniquely has FDA clearances utilizing its additional violet laser diode that help to effectively treat skin conditions, fungus, viral, and bacterial problems.
